Entry 1

The radio broadcasters were just playing another single until they played The Man I Want to Be. Instantly the lyrics seemed to hit home. With every chorus and then the bridge it was like the song was everything I wanted to say to that very special someone. As a vocalist, I began to sing along. The more I sang along with the song it became more meaningful. Not only was it meaningful; but, basically a code of living that all good guys should live by.

With it being so meaningful and especially being everything I had wanted to say to the special someone, I bought the karaoke version of the single online. By this time I knew every lyric to the song and was prepared to sing to the karaoke version. So I did and practiced hours per night.

Then the day came for a local Karaoke Contest known as Big Sandy Idol. I performed The Man I Want to Be and received excellent feedback not only from the crowd but the judges and actually won the local competition. Winnings included competing at the Finale for the title of Big Sandy Idol and a 2-track demo CD recording. On this demo CD I recorded not only one of Chris Young’s songs, but two...The Man I Want To Be and You're Gonna Love Me

So, the rising new single The Man I Want to Be actually got me to a starting point in a local music career and a scholarship for college through the local area competition, to further my education. For that I can thank Chris Young.
